Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust have announced their calendar of events for 2023 and are inviting everyone across the Sterling community to do their bit to support their fight against childhood cancer this year by taking part in their events, challenges and campaigns.
After a great beginning with their Treecycling campaign raising almost £10,000, they are off to a flying start in raising the £400,000 they need to raise this year to keep their vital services running to support families who need them.
The charity promises that there are so many ways local businesses can get involved with plenty of tangible business benefits plus lots of fun from choosing them as your charity of the year, taking part in their Virtual Easter Balloon race in April, a running challenge (dates throughout the year), Trek Snowdon in September to name a few ways to get involved.
Coralie Hudson, Fundraiser at the Trust and Sterling member, said: “We are so excited about what 2023 has in store for the Trust and our supporters. We love bringing together our local business community and we cannot thank Sterling members enough for their generosity and support so far.”
The Trust are hosting a summer evening event – a Midsummer Night’s Adventure on Saturday 24th June at Spetchley Park Gardens. Those who have visited before, will know that it is a magical place all of its own, and the Trust have decided to add a little more sparkle along with some fun outdoor activities to get that festival vibe right on your doorstep!
The evening will include forest school activities, music and performances, street food and drinks stalls, a craft and arts market plus more, for an enchanting evening of entertainment for all the family. To book your tickets, go to: www.gkcct.org/midsummer
Coralie stated: “Joining us at our events will help us support the families who need us today as well as fight for children of the future. With latest statistics in the UK have showing that 1 child in every 450 will sadly develop cancer before their 15th birthday, it is so vital that we continue to fight for these children and ensure the signs and symptoms of childhood cancer are shared as widely as possible.”
Save the date! The charity’s second big event of the year is their show stopping Winter Wonderland Ball to be hosted at the Bank House on Friday 1st December. The evening will bring together supporters, families, friends and loved ones for a night of celebration, good food, fun and dancing!

The Trust funds research in to rare and aggressive childhood cancers, educates families and clinicians about the signs and symptoms of childhood cancer and produces medical information booklets to explain to parents and children about the treatments they are facing.
The charity also provides financial, practical, and emotional support to local families through their family support service, giving families a listening ear and support at the time when they need it most.
