swcomms achieves sought-after Cyber Essentials Plus compliance certificate
Business IT and communications provider swcomms has been awarded a Cyber Essentials Plus certification of compliance to confirm their data and IT security expertise.
To gain this accreditation, swcomms underwent a rigorous audit that involved vulnerability testing of their IT systems and devices to ascertain their ability to thwart hacking and phishing attacks.
This Government-backed accreditation encourages UK businesses to adopt good practice in information security. swcomms already held the Cyber Essentials Standard accreditation to complement the ISO 27001 certificate that proves their ability to meet the operational and physical security requirements of their data centre in Exeter.
swcomms director of ICT John Holdstock said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this highest level of cyber security certification as cyber-crime continues to rise in the UK and is a serious threat to all types of businesses. This offers reassurance to all our customers, plus any prospects that may be interested in our services.
“Cyber Essentials Plus is particularly important in the public sector arena where it is becoming a prerequisite to tender for services. My thanks goes to the IT and data centre teams for securing this important accreditation.”
swcomms provides hosting, connectivity, security and IT support solutions to businesses, therefore the ability to evidence efficient handling private and personal data is critical to gain customer confidence.
