A duo from Sterling Worcester Warriors group pledged their support of the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust by taking on their Trek Snowdon Challenge on Saturday 30th September.
Group leader, Darren Wilkins of City Signs and also a trustee of the charity, along with Louise Grant from the Financial Advice Centre, began their trek to the summit of Snowdon on a very wet and windy September morning and took holding a 121 to new heights!
Both Louise and Darren made it to the summit of Snowdon after 15km hike to the top of Wales’s highest mountain, along with 20 other supporters of the local children’s cancer charity.
Coralie Hudson, Fundraiser said: “We are so proud of both Darren and Louise for taking on the challenge and making it to the top and back on such an awful day weather wise. Team spirit was certainly not lacking though. They have both told me how tough it was at times, and I know by the team’s support of one another and the knowledge of the much-needed donations flying in, everyone made it to the top for celebratory photo.”
The Sterling pair also smashed their targets too with Louise raising almost £500, and Darren, along with his wife Sarah, raising just over £1085 – which, incidentally, is the height of Snowdon in metres!
Coralie continued: “We are incredibly grateful to them for literally going the extra mile for the Trust. Their support will have such an impact on the local families facing childhood cancer who so desperately need us, and we cannot thank them both enough.”
