Green Bike Food Co is setting out to be everyone’s local, sustainable caterer. We pride ourselves on being certified as carbon neutral, and are revaluating our processes to turn that into becoming carbon negative. The base of our operation is through the use of electric vans and delivery bikes, powered internally by our base of operations which runs off 100% renewable energy. We make and deliver breakfast and lunches to offices and for events in a buffet-style format.

Coming up with the idea of Green Bike Food Co during the first lockdown in 2020 was honestly a moment of madness looking back at it. Starting a corporate catering business when the movement seemed to all be towards working from home was a risk taken on purely out of optimism that there was a light at the end of the tunnel, and we wanted to disrupt what was left of the market when things went back to ‘normal’.

Journeying forward 2 years to the present day, we are just starting to see the fruits of our labour and a foundation of autonomy within the operation, allowing Jack and myself to really set our sights on the next steps. Then, to be notified of a nomination for not just 1 but 2 awards from the Thames Valley Business & Community Awards was a real honour and gave us a very well timed boost just as we entered our busiest time of the year.

Our business is now 23 people strong, including ourselves, and still growing. Where we are today has been down to the grit and determination of our team who many have been with us for over a year now. They have been incredibly adaptive and persistent in helping us achieve our vision of where Green Bike Food can go, and a lot of our success which we cannot stress enough, is down to them. At the ages of 26 and 25 respectively, Jack and I were very Naïve at the beginning of this journey and in all fairness, we still are. Each step forward has been new to us, and that is also where we have to thank our support structures we have around us in family. They have played an unbelievable part in keeping us afloat with infinite hours of free labour and advice which we would not have survived the early days and lockdowns without. As a pair, we are eternally grateful for the people around us, and the good feeling we have around Green Bike Food Co is what we intended to continually harness and input into each day of work.
