Local charity, the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust have launched their fourth Christmas Treecycling campaign to help their community out of a prickly problem, benefit the local environment and to raise much needed funds to support children and their families in the area fighting childhood cancer.
The charity’s festive volunteers will be collecting Christmas Trees from people’s homes to be recycled from Saturday 9th to Tuesday 12th January 2024 across Worcestershire, and the #bemorefrank team will be covering Hereford for the second year. As the childhood cancer charity is increasingly supporting oncology families across Kidderminster, Bewdley, Stourport and surrounding areas, by request they have extended bookings to collect from households in the region.
This year, the campaign is kindly supported by West Midland Safari Park where the popular local attraction will be the drop off point for the Wyre Forest area with the chippings used on site for bedding for the Asian Rhinos and other animals.
Coralie Hudson, Fundraiser at the charity said: “It’s wonderful to have West Midland Safari Park onboard this year and we are so grateful to every one of our supporters. It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to offer something back to our community by taking the hassle out of battling your tree into the car to take to the tip – with the bonus that its environmentally friendly too! We are thrilled that the Wyre Forest tree chippings will be used for the rhinos – and it was fabulous to be invited down to come and meet these majestic animals.”

Their named fund, Be More Frank Team will be collecting from HR1, HR2, HR3, HR4, HR5, LD3.
The Trust receives no statutory funding so is reliant on their fantastic supporters to help them raise £600,000 each year to continue their vital work.
