ONSIDE is a local charity that has provided services and support across Worcestershire and Herefordshire for over 30 years. Our staff team and volunteers work with adults, young people, children and families facing disadvantage, or vulnerability as a result of mental or physical ill health, disability or social circumstances. Many of those people face discrimination, exclusion and inequality and have to navigate complex systems and processes, which they often struggle to do without support. Our work stems from the belief that everyone has the right to be a valued human being and to be treated in a just and fair way.

ONSIDE supports 11,000 people each year enabling them to live the best lives possible through range of services ensuring people have:

  • A voice in decisions affecting their lives.
  • Access to the right support and professional guidance and are able to understand information and processes they need to navigate.
  • Support to improve their mental and physical health and wellbeing.
  • Support to overcome loneliness.

Recent years has seen ONSIDE significantly expand our work with children, young people and families, including work in schools, colleges and GP practices to improve mental health and wellbeing. In March this year, we were awarded funding from the Department for Health and Social Care to deliver new and innovative mental health hubs for children and young people aged 11 to 25.

These will become a single point of access to a range of support in the community without the need for a referral.

ONSIDE’s new CEO, Alice Braddick, is looking forward to steering the charity through its next exciting chapter. ‘Over the next twelve months, we will be delivering a compelling programme of fundraising events, embarking on a digital transformation and continuing to build on our life enhancing services.’
