Back in the sunny days of early September, Kingsway House hosted a very relaxed, after-work, business-networking event. The drinks were chilled and so were the attendees; some even got out their sunglasses. Adam Lee’s soft voice and melodic guitar playing provided the perfect backdrop to 60 or so people getting to know each other (and even talking business) without a PowerPoint in sight. By any measure the event was a success, but handing over nearly £600 to the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust was the icing on the cake.
Much of the very positive feedback included people asking to be kept informed about the next one. What next one? We didn’t have a next one! So we gave it some careful thought, and within a couple of hours of our “Summer in the City” finishing we had the outline for the next one. Yay!
The “next one” is from 4-7 pm on Friday November 26th which is 4 weeks before …… well, you know. I used to think that anyone who uttered the word “Christmas” before December 1st should be locked in a dark room until they regained their sanity.
Now I have a more nuanced approach. This may have something to do with the fact that, if you want people to attend a Christmas event, you need to start publicising it before the season of super spending is upon us.
So do please sign up for our pre-Christmas networking event. There won’t be Pimm’s and sunshine but there will be mulled wine, mince pies and twinkly lights, plus the glow of satisfaction you get from combining business and pleasure with supporting an important local charity. We hope Adam Lee will be able to squeeze in a set before heading off elsewhere to actually get paid for playing. Booking for this event is essential.
