Every day we’re told what businesses should be doing to grow.
- Post more on social media.
- Send regular emails.
- Be consistent.
- Show up online.
But how many of us know what small businesses are actually experiencing right now?
Are most businesses struggling to stay consistent with their marketing? Is low engagement a common frustration? How many businesses rely almost entirely on referrals? Are business owners feeling confident about being visible, or are they finding it harder than ever?
These are some of the questions I am setting out to discover.
I’ve launched the West Midlands Small Business Visibility Report 2026, a region-wide survey designed to build the first snapshot of what it’s really like to market and grow a small business in the West Midlands today.
Whether you’re a sole trader, a growing team or an established business, your experiences matter.
The survey takes just three minutes to complete and asks about marketing, visibility and the everyday challenges of running a business.
The more businesses that take part, the more meaningful the findings will become.
Once the results are in, I’ll analyse the responses and produce a report highlighting the key trends, recurring themes and practical insights for small businesses. Everyone who completes the survey will receive exclusive early access to the report, giving you the opportunity to compare your own experiences with businesses across the region, discover what challenges are most common and see the bigger picture of small business marketing in 2026.
My hope is that this becomes an annual report, helping us understand how the local business landscape is evolving and creating a valuable benchmark for businesses across the West Midlands.
As a thank you for taking part, everyone who completes the survey will also be entered into a prize draw to win a Visibility Accelerator Package, including a Marketing Momentum Session, a mini brand shoot, five professionally edited brand images and a personalised 90-Day Visibility Roadmap.
If you’re a business owner in the West Midlands, I’d love you to add your voice. The more responses we receive, the more valuable this report will be for everyone who reads it.
Thank you for helping create the very first West Midlands Small Business Visibility Report. I can’t wait to share the findings with you later this year.
