Gary’s moustache madness is all in a great cause
Curly. Fat. Handsome. Not the usual words you’d associate with a Chartered Financial Planner. That’s Gary Morris’ usual introduction to his 60 seconds – and the man behind that magnificent moustache has a great story to tell:
‘A while ago I started coaching Worcester City Girls Under 14s football team. They were doing brilliantly until lockdown and we started doing quizzes on Zoom. Understandably, quite a few of them stopped joining in.’ ‘So that’s when the curly moustache began. I wanted to give the girls something to look forward to and have a laugh during lockdown. Yes I looked a bit silly. But it kept up the team spirit. Plus it boosted their mental health when they couldn’t see their friends.’ ‘I kept the moustache as a reminder to the girls and my children that appearance – often a focus for young people – isn’t important. That it doesn’t matter what people think of you as long as you are happy in yourself.’ concludes Gary
More recently, Gary won 2nd place in the 5th British Beard and Moustache Championships in the freestyle partial beard category. He was up against lots of other hirsute folks from around the world so was very pleased to get an award 
At the last count the event raised £5027.76 for charity. As Gary says ‘just a bit of fun for a great cause’
