Founded in 2015 by former England cricketer Ashley Giles and his wife Stine, the Giles’ Trust Brain Tumour Fund was born from deeply personal experience. Following Stine’s diagnosis and treatment for brain tumours, she and Ashley were determined to bring hope and support to others facing the same journey.
The charity proudly funded the first-ever Brain Tumour Research Nurse at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and continues to invest in groundbreaking research, specialist staff, and state-of-the-art equipment that transforms patient care.
Brain tumours remain the biggest cancer killer of adults and children under 40 in the UK, yet only 1.5% of government cancer research funding is directed towards this devastating disease. The Giles’ Trust works closely with doctors, scientists, and clinicians to ensure that every pound raised is invested where it is really needed.
Beyond research, the charity’s heart lies in supporting patients and families. Stine’s Home from Home offers free accommodation for brain tumour patients and their families undergoing surgery or treatment, while the Special Wishes programme helps create treasured memories and smiles in difficult times — from weddings to special trips away and the opportunity to meet their sporting or film heroes.
Every donation, event, and gesture of support helps fund life-changing work — giving patients hope, comfort, and strength during the toughest times. Together, we are making a difference to those affected by brain tumours.
