Charity Launches Enchanted Riverside Walk


Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust (GKCCT) is hosting their first ever Enchanted Riverside Walk in Worcester on Saturday 25th June promising to be an evening of magic, mystery and memories for all the family.

Sponsored by Painters Law LLP, Wyre Forest, the event begins at Worcestershire County Cricket Club at 4:30pm with entertainment including stilt walkers, acrobats, juggling and an LED light show. There will also be a special enchanted memory area for those who have lost loved ones to leave messages of remembrance.

Tina from HeadLight Fitness will be getting supporters ready with a warm-up before setting off on the 7k circular route at 6pm along the picturesque River Severn and Diglis Waterside. A shorter route is available.

The charity is inviting guests to wear fancy dress from woodland fairies, wonderful witches and wacky wizards to add to the magic of the evening. Face painting and glitter artists will also be on hand to add extra colour and twinkle.

It is going to be a magical event bringing families together enjoy an uplifting atmosphere, remember loved ones and help raise vital funds for the Trust. We cannot thank Painters Law LLP, Wyre Forest, enough for their generous sponsorship of £2000 helping us bring extra sparkle to our fundraising event.”

The vital work of GKCCT includes funding research into rare and aggressive childhood cancers, educating families and clinicians about the signs and symptoms of childhood cancer, and producing medical information booklets for parents and children explaining treatments they are facing.

The charity also provides financial, practical, and emotional support to local families through their family support service.

GKCCT is encouraging guests to raise sponsorship by setting up a Fundraising page Ticket prices only cover the administration costs of the walk, so every single penny raised will make a massive difference. Those who raise over £50 by 12 noon on Friday 24th June will receive a free GKCCT t-shirt which can be collected and worn at the event.

Tickets are £10 per adult and £5 for children and can be purchased in advance at  Entry includes the welcome party, the walk and a special GKCCT gift and certificate at the finish. Children can also take part in a special ladybird trail along the route and will receive a sweet treat and certificate.

Food and refreshments will be available to purchase from Taco Banditos, Bears Great Escapes Ice-cream, Guilt Trip Donuts and Calabbria Pizza. Drinks can be enjoyed from Twisted Trailers Vintage Mobile Bar.
